Cervicogenic headaches originate from disorders or dysfunction in the cervical spine (neck) or surrounding structures, such as muscles, joints, or nerves. These headaches often present with pain that originates from the neck and radiates to the head, typically affecting one side of the head or face. They may be triggered or exacerbated by certain neck movements or positions.
Migraines are a type of headache characterized by intense, throbbing pain, often accompanied by other symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light or sound, and visual disturbances (aura). Migraines can last for hours to days and may be preceded by warning signs or triggers such as stress, hormonal changes, certain foods, or environmental factors.
Tension-type headaches are the most common type of headache and are characterized by a dull, pressure-like pain that typically affects both sides of the head. They may be triggered by stress, anxiety, poor posture, or muscle tension in the neck and shoulders. Tension-type headaches can vary in duration and intensity but are generally not associated with nausea or vomiting.
